I decided to get crazy and I really do not like having to polish the spokes on my wheels. You can never get them entirely shiny enough. Their is not much chrome on those aluminum spokes anyway. I am not lazy. I keep the Savage shinin';however, I spray painted my spokes, not the rims. I used an acrylic laquer paint, very hard paint. With that said I found out that Dupli-Color makes a paint for automotive wheel covers made out of polyurethane paint. This is some really hard paint. I at one time worked for Dupont paint factory. So, I will eventually go back over the spokes with that. Preparation is the most important part; cleaning and stripping ensures good adhesion. Sanding and using an excellant paint with three to five light coats in an enviroment that is as dust free as possible ensures a great quality look. Take your time! Also, give the paint three months to set up so be careful not to rub to hard, scratch it or allow water to bead up on it, water will leave dull spots. I do not have any scratches on the spokes and have driven it over 100 miles since painting and allowing the paint the set up. I would like to get rid of the spoke wheels and use a more solid wheel. I plan on using a paint, black with a gold flake for the rest of the bike with some designing not sure yet, not too loud. I have some ideas.
